Hello Blossoms,
I'm in a great mood. I'm alone in bed, eating a piece of fried chicken with macaroni, burping aloud and giggling to myself. Attractive and mature, I know. I'm keeping myself occupied with a Russian spy novel, and it's fantastic so far. I haven't had time for pleasure reading in a long while, and it feels good to lose myself in the pages.
Earlier this week I took a trip to the doctor's, because I was worried about a spider bite that wouldn't stop growing and turning increasingly darker shades of purple. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a brown recluse spider bite just two inches away from my nasty surgical incision. What luck. The good news is that I'm on antibiotics and my bite hasn't gotten much worse (yet). The bad news is that my left leg absolutely hates me.
Anyway, I'll be done with this book in the next day or so. Do you have any recommendations for me when I'm done? I've read most of the classics so some modern bestsellers would be much appreciated!
~m.m.
I would recomend "Game of Thrones". It's now been made into a Mini series. Really good story.
ReplyDeleteReading is always fun, if you're interested in some astronomy stuff, I would suggest Mike Brown's How I Killed Pluto.

ReplyDeleteI don't like spiders either
ReplyDeleteBrown Recluse Spider bites are horrible - I used to work in the ER and I was scared one night when a guy came in with one. How horrible - I hope it gets better - those things are nasty! As for books - if you like memoirs by funny gay men, I suggest Augusten Burroughs (my FAVORITE) or David Sedaris.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your antibiotics !
ReplyDeleteI hate getting bit by creepy crawlies... The creepy crawlies themselves are fine, but getting bit. <_<
